From the air, the iceberg was a tremendous, shimmering, craggy block of ice towering from the sea where its underwater footprint glowed an iridescent blue in the dull grey-blue of the sea. Standing on it, I was surprised at how stable the iceberg was there was no sensation of motion as you would get in a boat. The blue glow I had seen from the air was also evident close up. The overwhelming sensation was a feeling of suspense, as if the whole thing could break apart at any moment.
